The upper floor level for Secret Level: Unreal Tournament. My design task was to visualise the interior of the top of the tower where the climax of the final battle takes place.
The key design decision was to portray the feeling we are high up in the tower. This was done by including large gaps to either side of the platform to give a sense of weightlessness.
Other key design elements include the concrete blocks, varying in size that felt like they could shift, move and transform to form the space. They are then complimented by mechanical struts that appear to keep the space in tact.
